Try It Nights Wheel Throwing

You will be encouraged to throw multiple bowls throughout the evening and then choose one masterpiece to keep. This piece will be finished and glazed by the instructor and ready for pick-up 3 weeks later. Cost is $65 per person per session which includes instruction, clay, glaze, firing for one bowl. Additional pieces will be available at $6 per bowl. These sessions are designed for folks with no clay experience
Please wear clothes and shoes that can get dirty
Your completed bowls will be available for pick up the fourth Wednesday of the month between 7 and 9 pm.
Beginner Wheel Level 1
This is an introductory course on wheel throwing. Students learn basic clay preparation, throwing and glazing techniques used to make pots from start to finish. Students are encouraged to use the studio for practice during their six weeks of instruction and four weeks of studio time. Typical throwing projects include boxes, cylinders (mugs, vases, etc.) and bowls.

Beginner Hand Building Level 1
The instructor will take students through the three basic construction methods, pinch, coil, and slab, to create several projects from clay. Glazing instruction and firing included, as well as four extra weeks of studio access for students to continue to explore hand building techniques.

Beginner Hand Building Level 2
In this class, students will learn alternative hand building methods including designing and using templates, hard slab construction, how to design and make tile sets, and other project-based learnings. Surface texturing/decorating will also be explored, and more!
